“I focus on ways to engage and enrich my employees and advance their careers.”
Tony knows how crucial to the success of the business it is to keep employees motivated. He serves as the Senior Vice President, Market Leader, at Key Private Bank. The son of schoolteachers in Jay, he is committed to lifting up all aspects of his community. In addition to parenting two children and serving on several boards, he has volunteered with the Mitchell Institute, teaching current college students about budgeting and safe banking practices.
Why do you like your career?
I have worked at KeyBank for the last 15 years in a variety of roles across our business--retail banking, commercial banking, and now as part of our wealth management team through our Private Bank. I enjoy the team I get to work with every day and our clients--working for Key provides me with the opportunity to help business owners and individuals improve their overall financial wellness so they can achieve their goals. Through the achievement of their goals, we continue to support the growth of the Maine economy.
How are you having an impact on your community?
Currently I serve on the board of directors of Milestone Recovery, Scarborough Youth Football, and have been a campaign cabinet member with the United Way of Greater Portland for the last two years. Each of these organizations has allowed me to have an impact on various parts of my community, and over the last eight months it has been very rewarding to see the community pull together to support these organizations and many others.
How has receiving the Mitchell Scholarship influenced your post-grad years?
For starters, I received an email many years ago from the Mitchell Institute about a job at MBNA for summer employment. I explored this opportunity and it ended up being my summer job for two years, and then I joined the company after college as well. Along with exposing me to the consumer finance industry, it is also where I met my wife!
